“Maybe I’ve already lived too long,” Ashildr said softly. “It’s cold…” She was having trouble keeping her eyes open.
“You don’t have to thank me. It’s my job and about the only thing I’m good at these days.” He replied, shrugging off her attempt to thank him.
“Why’s that?” Ashildr was already feeling stronger which was probably for the best, though she feared the doctor would notice that she was healing quicker than she should have. “I mean, it’s a good thing to be good at, but…”
He shrugged and removed the bloody gloves from his hands. “Just seem to fuck up everything else except this job.” He was used to failing, he just wasn’t sure if he could handle loosing another patient.
