“Maybe I’ve already lived too long,” Ashildr said softly. “It’s cold…” She was having trouble keeping her eyes open.
He shrugged and removed the bloody gloves from his hands. “Just seem to fuck up everything else except this job.” He was used to failing, he just wasn’t sure if he could handle loosing another patient.
“I’m very resilient,” Ashildr told him. “But I guess I needed a hand.” She looked over at the monitors. They were returning to normal far quicker than they should have. “I’ll be fine. For better or worse.”
With everything he’d seen in this town, the monitors were the least of his worries. “Glad to hear it. I was worried we were gonna loose you for a minute. You’re tougher than you look.”
