“Maybe I’ve already lived too long,” Ashildr said softly. “It’s cold…” She was having trouble keeping her eyes open.
Victor gave another nod. “How did you get to be like this? Immortal, for lack of better words.” He was curious. She had been close to death a few moments ago, now it was like nothing had happened to her.
“Science,” She shrugged. “I was born in a Viking village. A man from another time used a piece of technology to save my life. It hasn’t stopped saving my life.”
“I’ve always preferred science to magic. But even science has a price that needs to be paid. I found that out the hard way.” He nodded, leaning back in the chair.
