“Maybe I’ve already lived too long,” Ashildr said softly. “It’s cold…” She was having trouble keeping her eyes open.

“At this rate, I don’t think that’s even possible anymore. But it’s nice of you to offer.” He shook his head, all thoughts of getting back to his brother soiled from the previous bad attempts. “It never seems to end well.”

“You’ve never seen what I can do,” She said a mix of amused and sincere. “The offer stands until I leave town,” She hoped that would be soon. She just needed to be careful of the TARDIS when she crossed the town line.

He gave a small huff. “I’ll think about it,” he stood up to check the monitors. “For now? You just focus on getting rest. Depending on how you feel, I could probably discharge you tomorrow.”
