Ashildr was thrashing in her sleep when Victor woke her. She panted to catch her breath looking around. “Did I…Did I hurt you?”
Victor nodded in understanding. After 28 years under a curse even he had trouble remembering how old he was. He couldn’t imagine what she had been through if she wasn’t able to remember. “Understandable.”
“A surprisingly calm answer,” She chuckled, some of the fear leaving her. “I suppose you have two lives in your head. Think about how hard it is to keep clear who you were back home, who you were during the curse and who you are now then start multiplying.” Ashildr laid back down. “I’ll understand if this changes how you feel about me.”
“It doesn’t change how I feel,” he shrugged. “I’ve seen and heard a lot of stuff. I think I’m just used to hearing about the impossible by now.” He replied, resting his head back against the headboard.
